MatCalc is a specialized scientific and engineering program for modeling phase transformations and microstructure evolution of metal alloys. It is widely used in metallurgy, materials science, universities and industrial R&D centers. The basis of the program is the CALPHAD (Calculation of Phase Diagrams) method. The project began in 1993 under the leadership of Ernst Kozeschnik at the Graz University of Technology, and then development continued at TU Wien. Commercial support is provided by MatCalc Engineering GmbH. MatCalc allows you to calculate: phase equilibria and phase diagrams; kinetics of release of carbides, nitrides, intermetallic compounds and other particles; diffusion of elements; grain growth; recrystallization; microsegregation during solidification; change in strength and yield strength depending on the structure; influence of heat treatment on material properties.
