The main purpose of this software is to create programs for controlling CNC machines. The input data of the CAM system is a geometric model of the product developed in a computer-aided design (CAD) system. In the process of interactive work with a three-dimensional model in a CAM system, the engineer determines the trajectories of movement of the cutting tool along the workpiece (CL data), which are then automatically verified, visualized (for visual verification of correctness) and processed by a postprocessor to obtain a control program for a specific machine (also called G code).
